Privacy Policy

97Tracker ("we", "us") is an independent, personal tracking aid for Guard and Reserve members. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Department of Defense or any branch of the United States Armed Forces. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Information you provide

We only store what you enter to make the app work:

• Account details: email address and password (the password is stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text).
• Profile: name, rank, branch, and unit, plus optional dates such as your anniversary, retirement or separation, fitness test, and checkride dates.
• The duty periods, training periods, active-duty orders, and personal events you log.
• Optional pay-estimator inputs: your housing area, dependent status, and any incentive-pay figure you enter.
• Messages you send us through the feedback form.

How we use it

Your information is used solely to operate 97Tracker for you: to show your calendar, retirement points, pay estimates, currency reminders, and to maintain your account and unit membership. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising or profiling.

Cookies

We use a single authentication cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Who can see your data

• You see your own logs, which are private to your account.
• Moderators and administrators in your organization can see roster membership and the unit calendar and events, but not your private pay inputs.
• We share data only with the service providers that run the app: our hosting provider (Railway) and our email provider (Resend) for sign-in and password-reset messages. We do not share it with anyone else.

Storage and security

Data is stored in a database hosted in the United States. Connections are encrypted in transit (HTTPS), the site sits behind a web application firewall, and passwords are hashed with bcrypt. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Keeping it unofficial

Please do not enter classified, controlled unclassified information (CUI), or operationally sensitive details. 97Tracker is for unofficial personal tracking only.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can ask to have your account and associated data deleted at any time by contacting us, and an administrator can delete accounts within the app. Deletion removes your logs, profile, and messages.

Children

97Tracker is intended for adult service members and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
